Bevel gear drive is a transmission which is used to drive one or more
shafts which do not line up with the output shaft. It is also called
bevel gear transmission. Advantages of Bevel Gear Drives
Bevel gear drives are capable of handling heavy loads and offer higher torque. They transmit engine power smoothly onto the main clutch pulley. The bevel gear housing absorbs loading of the power band and enables the use of a short power band. Hydrostatic drive pump, hydraulic main pump and hydraulic infinitely variable length of cut-pump are flanged to a new carrier housing, adding more reliability.
In the drive, belt tension loading is not transmitted to the engine crankshaft. Long trouble free engine service life is ensured. It requires no maintenance, no belt or chain drive and hence no wear and tear.
A double wall, oil sump apron fitted with a twin-bevel drive to the power sliding and surfacing feeds allows the operator to instantly reverse without having to stop the headstock spindle.
