ground gears. They offer smooth and quiet operation. They are designed
to carry heavy loads while absorbing, dampening and controlling large
deflections occurring simultaneously in several directions. Aircraft gearbox comprise of bearings, dampers, isolators, vibration mounts, shaft seals, and gaskets. They are made of several materials, generally of magnesium alloys and cast iron. They can also be made from silver alloys, thorium alloys, and yttrium alloys.
